MFA in Painting and filmmaking, University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee.
My careers include: professional ballet photographer, photojournalist, lecturer for the UW-Milwaukee Art and Film departments , and Video Producer-Director with Time Warner Cable’s Community Access Television.
My most challenging work was twelve years as a visual communications teacher for incarcerated teenage boys at Ethan Allen School, a Wisconsin State Juvenile Correctional facility.
After winning the “Best Short Film” award at the Athens, Ohio International Animation Festival, I received a grant for a short animated film from the Jerome Foundation in St. Paul, Minnesota, later earning honors at the Zagreb International Animation Film Festival for a sand animation called “Camel Music."
A three time recipient of a Milwaukee Foundation's Mary Nohl “Suitcase Travel Grant” I screened a film at the Indian Institute of World Culture in Bangalore India, March 2019 with audience Q&A, and in October, 2022 I received a second Suitcase Travel Grant to screen films at four schools and the Rotary Club in Bangalore. On my third travel grant, I screened all four films at Suchitra Cinema and Cultural Academy in Bangalore.
